Hi, im a smoker and i know its bad for health but thats not the factor. Have been wondering do smoking affects bodybuilding? and how it affects?? Anyone with any idea?

Not directly but indirectly.. Smoking increases free radicals lever in the body ( therefore u need more antioxidants and vitamin C / E )

And smoking also lower ur cardio vascular performance and makes ur ran out of breathe.faster..

But u will be surprised @ how many bodybuilders are smokers.. The IFBB I know tts a smoker is Markus Ruhl..

i myself saw many bodybuilders smoking. I have a friend who can run marathons, sprint events etc and he still smokes. He once told me he need to smoke in order to run fast. Ok that is crap and rubbish as i believe smoking will make u lose stamina and i believe if he stop smoking who knows, he might run a faster timing.

So quit smoking and lead a healthy lifestyle

Hey terry, i did come across the photo of markus ruhl smoking too! But is there really many bodybuilders who smoke? Hmm.. i do take multi vitamins, i suppose it should make up for the vitamin c and e

Thanks for the advice malcolm! haha nice dp by the way. But i dont think that quitting is as easy as it seems, I have attended counselling sessions to quit smoking before but to no avail.
